ESSER III Funds
CARTHAGE ESD 317 PLAN FOR ARP ESSER III FUNDS
The American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief fund provides states and school districts help to safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the Carthage ESD #317 plan for allocating ESSER III funds:
Resources to support student learning and social emotional needs - $300,055.00
Continued funding for summer school program
Continued funding for after school program
New textbooks for Science, Health, and Social Science
Five new interventions to improve student learning
1 new smartboard for every classroom (30 total)
New wires for internet service to provide faster transmission of data
Facilities – Ventilation & Air Quality - $58,000.00
7 New HVAC units to provide better air quality for the students -
Transportation - $121,108.00
1 – 65 passenger yellow bus to provide additional space for better air quality for the students being transported
Improvements to the facilities – $213,480.00
New desks and furniture for the primary school
2 large screens for each gym
Refinish track
Replace carpet to vinyl floors in Primary school -
Installation of fence around playground -
Remodel bathrooms in the primary and middle schools -
Total Funds used through ESSER III funds - $692,643.00
The superintendent has met with the community on four occasions (7/30, 8/27, 9/24, 10/29). He has also met with the union leadership, teachers, and administrators on (7/16, 7/21, 8/3, 8/17, 9/9, 10/6, 10/14, 10/22). In addition, the superintendent has mentioned the budget detail, specific program, and the grant in the last three school board meetings (8/18, 9/15, and 10/20) detailing all facets of the grant.
